Having just seen The Bourne Identity for the second time in a week, I am now thoroughly convinced of a cameo shot from beyond the pale. Ready?
In the scene where the Paris Police find the small red car in the underground garage, there is a shot where a policeman hands the Interpol sheets on our two heros to a plainclothes cop, who is standing near the red car.
I am very, very certain that that cop is in fact Roman Polanski. I looked closely this time, because last weekend it rocked me and was gone in a heartbeat. It’s a profiley shot, almost an over the shoulder shot.
And yet… it really struck my brain as such. Anyone else notice this? He’s an expatriate living in Paris, it would not be beyond belief that a large American production would give him a quick nod by giving him a 3 second cameo…
Saw it last night-gonna go find a pic of Polanski and get back to you…
Speaking of this film, am I the only one who thought I was watching a 2 hour advert for the agility and durability of Le Car, or Renault, or whatever that little red car was?
Hey, Cartooniverse, don’t feel bad if nobody ever really answers this for you. I asked a very similar question a while back about Sum of All Fears that died almost as soon as I asked it. At least you’re getting replies!
Haven’t been able to determine the answer to the original question, but the IMDB site is a bit dodgy on this at the present time. I assume (although I have no idea why) that this will get sorted out later on. Did you sit through the credits at the end of the film?
