You guys are getting very close.
Why hasn’t anyone mentioned Peter and Gordon?

Beatles
Stones
Who
Kinks
Yardbirds
small faces
If you guys don’t get the answers soon, I will be choked prior to bedtime.
The first six bands I jotted down off the top of my head, after reading the OP, were
The Beatles
The Rolling Stones
The Kinks
The Who
The Dave Clark Five
The Hollies
Then I read the rest of the thread and did a lot of :smack: “Oh yeah! I forgot about them!”
And you were so very close.
Okay, it’s gotta be Beatles, Stones, Who for three, right.
Kinks for fourth?
Have the other two been mentioned?
Beatles
Rolling Stones
Who
Kinks
Faces
Yardbirds
Okay guys- off to bed.
All the ones I have actually have been mentioned. Not altogether though.
Thanks for participating.
Nighty-nite. I think that The Who at least were part of the “second invasion”.
I did in post #16 (only about 10 minutes prior to your post).
give a link to the Wiki entry you are using.
Nitpick: The British Invasion band who did “House of the Rising Sun” was the Animals. Eric Burdon and the Animals was the psychedelic band who did “Sky Pilot,” and apart from Burdon was a completely different band. (Actually the first album credited to Eric Burdon and the Animals was really an Eric Burdon solo project recorded with session musicians.)
The Who didn’t blow up until Monteray and the Smothers Brothers show. Pictures of Lily and Happy Jack were flops in the States.
Yeah, 'cause the one named British Invasion states the following:
Huh. I always thought that The Who were from Canada.
That would be The Guess Who.
Big difference.
And they really blew up on the Smothers Brothers Show.
My guesses were:
The Beatles
The Rolling Stones
The Who
Herman’s Hermits
The Yardbirds and/or The Byrds (because I couldn’t remember which was British)
Without looking at anyone else’s answers…
Beatles
Stones
Yardbirds
Kinks
Cream
Bowie?
Except that they both recorded “Shakin’ All Over.”
