The British Muse

The muse…that paranormal something which inspires and fuels the artist to produce Work.

When the 60s became the 70s, it was said that whatever carried along the Beatles was now propping up Monty Python’s Flying Circus.

I claim also for the past 15 years TOP GEAR.

In Your opinion, this muse inspired who and when?

Rain. It keeps you indoors and gives you lots of time to think.

In terms of who, there have been countless legendary British writers - Shakespeare, Locke, Dickens, Austen, the Brontes, Orwell, etc. I’m not sure I’d put them all in the same category as Top Gear, though . . .

By whom? And what did they mean by it? Spike Milligan?

The Clash. And after maybe… U2.

The “British Muse” outsourcing to U2 in Ireland?

Eek! I’m horrified at the idea of having “Top Gear” in the same universe as Python. Long-running telly programme about cars can’t really be in the same field as MPFC, surely? Sacrilege!
