I can strongly recommend Monsieur Lazhar. I saw it a month ago with the French group in Newmarket.
I can also recommend Cafe de Flore. Lots of great music. Same French group, but this time at the beautifully-restored arts centre/theatre in Stouffville. Those York Region French groups really get around…
So that dismembered body story just kicked up to 11 - they have a suspect, who’s a gay porn actor who once dated Karla Homolka.
If the matter goes to trial, I’m sure that there will be a great body of evidence.
The hand was apparently being sent to the headquarters of the Liberal Party.
I don’t want to think about what may have been sent to the headquarters of the NDP…
The dude is a nut job. Apparently he filmed the whole thing and put the snuff film on line. He isn’t going to get far. He wanted attention, he got it.
My guess is that the cops will never take him alive.
I don’t know, he seems to be very narcissistic. They generally don’t go that route.
I wasn’t sure where to put this, or how much attention to draw to it, since it isn’t about me, but I just watched RickJay perform at a comedy club tonight.
He has fine-tuned his routine and added new material and it was very funny. Out of the 6 amateur comedians, I placed him in second position (my subjectivity!), although to be fair some of that might be due to the fact that some of the routine I’d watched before on Youtube (linked here in the past).
Anyway, kudos to Rick for a fine performance and for paying for my admission!
I’m down in the GTA on business and sat at the side of the stage at a table by myself, in an otherwise almost sold-out venue. Ya. I took some ribbing by some of the other comedians!

I get the impression that they lack bodies, but have lots of parts.
Every time I hear something about the story an old Wendy’s ad comes to mind. They were comparing their chicken with other fastfood chicken and somebody utters the classic line, ‘parts is parts’.
Thanks! I was very flattered you came to see my act, it was very kind of you. You didn’t get ripped nearly as bad as Pickle. 
There were only five amateurs; one of the 7-minute acts was a professional. Big unkempt-looking guy. Actually the overall quality was very high, you lucked out. There’s usually at least one person who bombs, but nobody bombed tonight.
In a situation like this where the recipient can’t legally take possession of the package, who foots the bill?
Then you were definitely the best amateur act; that’s the guy who I thought was funnier.

Muffin, how’s the clean up going? Can people in town flush yet? I know that most of PA was spared but I have a friend who lives on Machar and her basement was FULL of water. I know so many who took the hit, I am grateful my basement (at the bottom of a hill, no less) was spared.

Actually, that’s something I’ve been wondering about. RickJay, I’ll be in Toronto in July–dates and my schedule while in town are yet to be firmed up, but I was wondering. Will you be performing in July? Maybe I could make it to see your routine also.
