The CanaDoper Café (2012 edition of The great, ongoing Canadian current events and politics thread.)

Ha ha! Funny thing is, I know exactly what you’re referring to, but have never been there.

Anyone for a chorus of “It’s a small word afterall?”

Oh oh, web reviews state that it has gone downhill a lot following new ownership last year. Pity.

Could be – if you were/are doing oversight audits at Chalk River’s NRU, you’d be dealing with stuff my family designed and built back at the dawn of time.

Coincidentally, I am in NRU at least once a week.
♫ It’s a world of laughter, a world of tears
It’s a world of hopes and a world of fears
There’s so much that we share that it’s time we’re aware
It’s a small world after all. ♫

♫ It’s a small world after all
It’s a small, small world. ♫[/

I hate you both.

It’s a small, small world.

Small world? My sister and brother-in-law both live in Calgary. Guess whose van I came up behind on Highway 17, just north of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario?

Yep. BIL’s. We pulled into a gas station, shook hands, said, “Man, what are the odds?” and kept on going.

We were both heading to Toronto, but as things turned out, he missed the turn for Highway 69 south at Sudbury and ended up in North Bay.

Small world indeed!

It’s a small world. Wouldn’t want to paint it, though…

Sure - so long as you’re willing to Go Out and Paint the Whole World Green!

As near as we can tell, Leaffan’s mother and my mother grew up within a few blocks of each other…

No, I’m not going to sing that song; I have enough earworm trouble as it is and I’m trying to learn some Bach today. “Mache dich, mein Herze, rein; it’s a small world after all.”
Gaaaahhh!!! There it is again!!!

So, this cartoon is about you ?

Not exactly, but it’s one of my all time favourites!!

A classic, mon frère.

What the heck’s going on in Toronto tonight? It looks like there was a shooting at a crowded party with at least one dead at this point.

2 dead, 19 injured. Welcome to our long, hot summer. The house I previously lived in, I could hear random gunshots at night.

A guy on a bike in the rain with his dog in the wagon with a cowboy hat on. Cause, why not?

And a bonus Mock Orange and fence photo, because I thought the photo came out really well and I wanted to share it.

Nice pictures.

Girl fight!

Premier Alison Redford of Alberta versus Premier Christy Clark of BC over a proposed pipeline to the west coast.

All the politics aside, can I say how thrilled I am that it is two women premiers having this fight? I’m old enough to remember when my mom couldn’t go into the bar to get her husband out.

Ah, now I remember the reason I stopped going to bars.
