How could have anyone left out Bob Keeshan, including me? That should have been an obvious pick.
I don’t know about you, but I thought he died a long time ago. I could have sworn I heard something about Captain Kangaroo dying about ten years ago.
Or Helmut Newton. Who’ll now be forever linked in death with Captain Kangaroo.
It’s weird that with the hundreds of names on the alphabetical list, the first two people to die were next to each other. Wonder if Vaclav Havel is worried?
Yeah, me, too. Maybe we’re thinking about Mr. Green Jeans.
Mr. Green Jeans died in 1987, right around the time Liberace died. (yes, I share your concern that I remember this.)
I was positive he had died a decade or so ago. Or, so I thought.
I guess that shows how much he had fallen out of sight. I did hear that he published a children’s book in the late nineties.
Jack Paar is dead at 85, so Santos L. Halper and NoGoodNamesLeft each score 15 points!
What Spiff said. Congratulations, NoGoodNamesLeft and Santos L. Halper!
I hope I’m not stepping on your toes, a35362, by posting celebrity deaths in your thread. If so, I apologize.
But I’m just so darn excited about this game that I just can’t help myself!
Two new celebs to report:
Marty Balin (sp?) of Jefferson Airplane/Starship
LLoyd Bucher, Commander of the USS Pueblo
As of February 1st, the scoreboard stands thusly:
Angel Heart
Caricci
Mullinator and
zoog - are tied for 1st place with 41 points each.
Sternvogel - in 2nd place with 16 points.
NoGoodNamesLeft and
Santos L Halper tied for 3rd with 15 points each.
And everybody else is tied for fourth place! Whoo-hoo!
When did this happen?
Head it on the radio going to work Friday morning. Haven’t seen or heard it anywhee else, however…
His birthday was Friday, may be that’s what you heard.
Woo hoo! I’m in fourth place!
Let’s hear it, gang –
We’re Number Four! We’re Number Four! We’re Number Four!
I googled, and didn’t see anything about Balin assuming room temperature. However, Jeff Allen of WAFX in Virginia Beach reported him dead, because Balin was the lead in for Lloyd Bucher. Sudden death at 62 was how it was mentioned.
Wouldn’t be the first time a celeb was incorrectly reported, however.
Then the Pope and Ronnie Reagan both croak, and we’ll still be Number Four! We’re Number Four! We’re Number Four!

Elroy ‘Crazylegs’ Hirsch, football star from the 1950’s LA Rams died January 28th and here’s the IMDB page: http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0386470/bio
What is he doing on the IMDB? Well, he made 2 movies, but his fame as a football player certainly overshadowed his acting accomplishments.
As far as the “late” Mr Marty Balin, I even tried searchng Google news and found nothing. Any confirmation of his death?
E’s not dead. E’s just pining for the chords.
