My mom just told me that Reagan died. I don’t know if she thinks I am a died in the wool conservative Republican like her ( ha!) and that this was Really Bad News or what, but all I could think is * Yes! I finally am on the board with a score for SDDP2004 *.

Well I’m finally on the board (and probably in a 28-way tie for next-to-last place)!! Mr Reagan was not my favorite president but still it must be a relief to his family that he has finally succumbed to his illness.

Bah, for some reason I didn’t have Reagan on my list this year. Must confess that one of my first thoughts as I was hearing word of his passing was “hmm… wonder if I had him on my celebrity death pool…?” I guess it’s good to know that I’m not the only one who had that thought, morbid as it seems. 
Which leads me to my next hope … come on, Pope John Paul! (YIKES!)

I must be one of a very small number of SDMB members that really admired Ronald Reagan. It’s sad, really. His passing, I mean. 
I’m still waiting for The Pope to kick it, and Gerald Ford has to be close. He didn’t look good the last time I saw him, which was on TV.
