The Celebrity Death Pool 2005

Darn it, I thought I picked Arthur Miller. Must have gotten edited out. :smack:

Here is a substantive link (six pages’ worth) recounting the life of Arthur Miller. Interesting that Marilyn Monroe was, at different times, married to a man designated “greatest living ballplayer” (Joe DiMaggio) and Miller, widely considered “the greatest living playwright” until his death.

Doris Boshart of the Willmar 8 has died.

Never heard of the Willmar 8? Well you should have.

These women were heroes.

Too bad you have to register to read the link.

Ah fudge, try here.

Sorry

Boy, I really need to start paying more attention. Like Rosemary Kennedy, Arthur Miller was one of those people I sorta thought was already dead. :smack:

Thanks for the link! I’ll read it and see what I’ve been missing.

Me too. In future, would it be possible for someone to compile an official list of ‘people who aren’t dead’ before the start of the competition for us not-paying-proper-attention people?

This is the internet. You should know someone’s already done it!

Just have to get my favorite in - Dead People Server - even though one of cazzle’s has more listings.

I checked in with all three of the above sites when I was making out my list. As a rule, if I thought that they were already dead, and I saw them listed as alive, they wound up on the long list (and a few made the final cut). Arthur Miller was one of those, but I was trying to stay away from the octogenarians this year.

Lucia de Jesus dos Santos, who had been the last surviving member of the trio of Portuguese children credited with receiving the visions of the Virgin Mary at Fatima in 1917, has died at the age of 97. She had become a nun, and was living at a Carmelite convent when she passed away yesterday.

Yeah, I knew those places (and the Dead People Server) existed, I just didn’t think of checking. I thought they were already dead! Like I said, I need to start paying more attention.

Dick Weber, winner of 26 PBA titles dies at 75. I doubt anyone had him.

Imagine the burial. He’ll be rolled toward his grave into a giant set of pins.

Sammi Smith is dead. She was 61.

Sandra Dee has died, aged 63

They’re saying Hunter S. Thompson has committed suicide.

Death was busy Sunday.

John Raitt will also not be down for breakfast.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Thompson. Rest in Peace.

Wow, before this weekend I was a Death Pool virgin (this is my first year), and after this weekend I’ve got two down (Sandra Dee and Hunter S. Thompson).

I feel so dirty.
