Weird, I could have sworn I picked Arthur Clarke for my author but I guess I went with Ursula LeGuin instead.
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (AP) – Ivan Dixon, an actor, director and producer best known for his role as Kinchloe on the 1960s television series “Hogan’s Heroes,” has died. He was 76.
Dixon died Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte after a hemorrhage and of complications from kidney failure, said his daughter, Doris Nomathande Dixon of Charlotte.

Since no one else has mentioned it, the great Paul Scofield has died at 86.
Death watch. Navaira is 45.
HOUSTON – Emilio Navaira III, the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, was placed in a medically induced coma because of a severe brain injury received after a bus crash in Houston and may not survive, KPRC Local 2 reported Monday.
“He is still critically ill. There is a chance he may not make it. Everyone needs to understand that right up front. That’s how bad this is. And the recovery will take a long time,” said Dr. Alex Valadka with Memorial Hermann Hospital.
