The Celebrity Death Pool 2008

I see. Thank you!

Yup.

A sad day for stoners everywhere- LSD inventor and proponent Albert Hofmann has taken his final trip.

Deborah Jeane Palfrey, who gained fame as the “D.C. madam” during a trial in which Louisiana’s Senator David Vitter was exposed as one of her clients, is reported to have committed suicide. A body found in a shed near Palfrey’s mother’s Florida home has been identified as the 52-year-old, who was free on bail pending her scheduled July 24 sentencing for running an upscale prostitution ring.

First Vince Foster, now Debra Palfrey. Hillary Clinton has a lot to answer for.

A unique pick for phungi.

And -2 points…

You jumped in while I was checking the rules. My spreadsheet does indeed show that phungi is now in sole possession of last place with -2 points, but I think the rule is that he just gets zero points. Time for an update to my spreadsheet formulae.

I was going to say “nobody had her”, but I don’t think that’s quite true.

I wasn’t entirely serious. Pick two from  :stuck_out_tongue:   :smack:  & for future use.

IIRC, she was the last Casablanca cast member still alive.

Five celebrities joined the dearly departed in April: four unique picks plus Charlton Heston.

Why don’t you just give us a nice paper cut and pour lemon juice in it?

Actually, Madeline LeBeau, who played Yvonne, Rick’s jilted mistress, is still alive (she’ll be worth 12-13 points in 2009 for anyone planning next year’s death pool).

Buzzie Bavasi, who served as an executive with several baseball teams over the course of a 45-year career in the game, has died at the age of 93. After working his way up from office boy to general manager of the Brooklyn club (with stops at several of the Dodgers’ minor-league franchises along the way), Bavasi helped preside over four World Series championships, including three after the team moved to Los Angeles. He later spent time as president and part-owner of the expansion San Diego Padres, then closed out his career by serving as the California Angels’ executive vice president.

Hey!
I almost scored!

Can I help it if every other freakin terrorist has the last name of al-masri? I mean, who freakin’ knew?

Lynne Harvey the wife of radio personality Paul Harvey has died after a long fight with leukemia. She met her husband in 1940* and served as his producer for many years. She was the first producer to enter the Radio Hall of Fame.
*What they heck do you buy a couple for a 68th wedding anniversary?

Apparently a headstone.
