I wouldn’t dismiss the connection between conchology and murderous rage so easily. If I had a nickel for every time when I was looking for a certain type of sea shell, and I had to supress the desire to go shoot someone, especially some Olympic hopeful wrestler, I would have 15 cents.
I’d only have 12.5¢. I could never murder anyone, but doing bodily harm seems to be a frequent wish of mine.
