The Celebrity Death Pool 2010

Yeah, I’m just being morbid.
Hell of a think to do in an upbeat thread like this.

Hank Raymonds, who served as head coach Al McGuire’s top assistant during Marquette’s run to the NCAA Division I basketball crown in 1977, has died at the age of 86. Following that championship season, McGuire retired and was succeeded by Raymonds, who guided the team for the next six campaigns before stepping down and becoming the school’s athletic director.

According to a Raleigh TV News site, Elizabeth Edwards has died.

Nooooooooooo!

I had a sure 39 points for 2011.

Damn it.
Oh. And condolences and all that shit too.

Not good, apparently.

Along with everyone else.

39 points for me! The most points I have ever scored in a death pool! WOOHOO!!!

Oh and RIP Elizabeth Edwards.

And it seems like just yesterday we were all hoping for her to have four more weeks.

That was just today?! Wow… But seriously, it’s like no one knew how much time she had left.

What’s this?:

thubthubthubthubthubthub

The sound of dozens of dopers running to the 2011 thread to update their lists…

My first thoughts re: Elizabeth Edwards’ death: SUMBITCH! There goes some low-hanging fruit I was hoping to harvest next year.

My second thoughts: At least she had a peaceful end.

I am a good person…eventually. When I didn’t have my list for next year almost picked out and now I have a space to fill.

Speak for yourself and the other late comers.

I didn’t have Edwards on my 2011 list. … or my 2010 list. :frowning:

She’s been on my lists since 2008. RIP.

We all make mistakes.
I thought I was wrong about something once, but I wasn’t.

The Vorlon and Little Nemo enter the top ten, in 9th and 10th place respectively. None of the previous top ten had Elizabeth Edwards.

I wonder how many will check out by the end of this month, if for no other reason than to give the tax man the middle finger?

Why thank you for the lovely hand basket…

I have seen a tax-planning article that quite seriously suggested that you consider switching off a rich relative on life support before the end of the year.

My coworker sent me a txt letting me know she died and I was NOT HAPPY to hear of her PASSING so SOON. dammit.

Condolences to all for the pointage lost.

Now we have to find another Dead Pool Bangladesh Ferry Ride to cram on to. Christamighty, it was so much easier when it was Lou Rawls or Zelda. They had staying power.

Zsa Zsa was the bandwagon before Elizabeth Edwards decided to simultaneously raise and dash our hopes. ZZ is still on my list for this year and next.

If no one with a higher score than me had her, then I’ve leapt up to 11th place. So I’m gonna celebrate like a sumbitch until I learn otherwise!
