The Celebrity Death Pool 2010

Anyone have race driver Stirling Moss? If so, hard luck - the 80-year-old has survived a three-story fall down an elevator shaft.

They don’t make 'em like that anymore.

We’ll know he’s tough if he survives his hospital stay.

Former Los Angeles Dodger baseball great Willie Davis found dead in his Burbank home - age 69.

True, this is the NHS. I hear the “death panel” convenes on Friday.

Corey Haim Dead at 38

A unique pick and a bundle of points to andipandie.

Y’know - Haim was kind of a train-wreck so I shouldn’t be surprised - but it still makes me sad he never could get his life straight.

I’m just shocked that he beat the over/under and made it to 38.

Was Feldman on their list too? I mean, you never see one doing something without the other…just saying, is all.

Whew! So his death wasn’t a total waste!

I was going to ask if he was one of the 80’s Corey’s. But, Apparently my 27 year old grasp on time is shot.

Or at least a slew of points.

I also heard Ricardo Montalban was left out and he was an established movie actor long before Fantasy Island. Seems like the Oscars are a bit snobby, do any TV and we’ll ignore you. Good thing Michael Jackson never had a TV series or he wouldn’t have been mentioned for his one film.

I think the thing about MJ is not necessarily his one film, but the influences he had on cinematography, soundtracking and sound recording, etc. Yes, I think he’s received enough coverage and I am dismayed that he was chosen and others were not.

But I can understand why they chose him. I just think that the constant overshadowing of MJ’s death over Farrah’s is unfortunate.

I had to check this and that was not the case, Montalban was in the 2009 Oscar “In Memoriam”.

When I heard the news this morning my first thought was “Oh no, that’s a shame.” My next thought was “Oooooo, I think I put him on my SDMB celebrity death pool list! Finally some points!” I loved him so much when I was a little girl growing up in the 80s, I think it helped soften the blow a bit :stuck_out_tongue:

Also, I can’t believe I was the only one who had him on their list! I’m far more shocked about that than I am over his actual death.

As for the Oscars ‘In Memorium’ piece, I heard they also forgot to include Henry Gibson which made me quite sad since I didn’t even know that he had died!

Wow, impressive. Definitely the first significant death game-wise this year.

Ah, okay, I took someone else’s word for it and I couldn’t double check because my iPhone battery was dying and wouldn’t let me open another app.

The zero point, 100 year old ‘Granny D’ has also crossed the river Styx.
http://www.commondreams.org/headline/2010/03/10 Yeah, no points, but I figured we were all about seeing them drop

No.
