RIP, Ernie.
Not that anyone had her, but the world’s oldest person Kama Chinen has died at the age of 114.
Not at all unexpected, but most definitely NOT how I wanted to win my first points in three years of playing.
Thanks for the memories, Ernie. Godspeed.
The real creepy thing is everyone on the planet just moved a bit closer to being the oldest living person.
My first points of the year:
Some guys have all the Goodluck.
:ducks and runs:
And I move out of the cellar into eleventh place (tied anyway).
It is possible that my grandmother is bumping them off in a bid to become the oldest.
And you would rat on her?
For shame!
The terrifying thing is she’s only 79.
Former Phillies pitcher and Hall of Famer Robin Roberts, dead at 83.
Wow, I got away with no one getting that one?
I see what you did there. Though I wouldn’t have if I didn’t read the Globe And Mail this morning.
I also have Umaru Yar’Adua, my second score of the year.
Walter Hickel, who served two non-consecutive terms as governor of Alaska, has died at the age of 90. In 1966, Hickel won his first gubernatorial election, but resigned in 1969 to become President Nixon’s Secretary of the Interior. He was fired from that post the next year in a dispute over the Nixon administration’s handling of Vietnam War-related student protests, and eventually returned to the governor’s mansion following a 1990 election.
The great Lena Horne passed away at 92 - but amazingly it appears she wasn’t on anyone’s list (maybe in the “I thought she was already dead” category?)
Probably in the “8 points is hardly worth it” catagory.
Damn. Wrong thread, Deleted.
Hey at this point, I’d take the 8, considering it’s almost halfway through the year and I’m at 0
I have her.
