Don Coryell, the football coach whose emphasis on the passing game led to his offense being termed “Air Coryell”, has died at the age of 85. After guiding the National Football League’s St. Louis Cardinals from 1973 to '77, Coryell took over at San Diego, where quarterback Dan Fouts enabled the Chargers to lead the league in passing yardage for each of Coryell’s first six seasons with the club. Coryell stepped down after the 1986 campaign.

He was the last NHL player to score a goal at the old Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto.
I have just discovered that Deborah Peagler died June 8. Although her Wikipedia entry does not give her age, she was reported as being 49 when released from prison in August 2009, so I will go with an age of 50 now.

Man. Into the second half of the year and I’m sitting at zero with 90 other failed Cassandras.
I certainly need to re-think who to pick next year. This is getting depressing. So many corpses, and none of them mine.
Second! Wow, I’m quite excited to be doing this well. Either it pays to play the game for years as a lurker before actually submitting your first official list or its just beginner’s luck.
Of course, **Amarone **seems untouchable this year. I checked the math on it after Irwin Barker passed away and I though I was within 1 point of him … but noooo, he had Irwin too and then to top it off he adds a unique 50 pointer before the end of the month. Unless **Rachm Qoch **has an unexpected comeback I think Amarone may have this wrapped up with almost half the year to go.
25th place! I am poised and ready for a big second-half push.
I know what it is - Amarone must have peeked at the answers - either that or got a look at the Grim Reaper’s day planner last year!
Mel Turpin, who starred at center for the University of Kentucky’s men’s basketball team before an NBA career spent most notably with the Cleveland Cavaliers, has committed suicide at the age of 49. With Cleveland, “Dinner Bell Mel” was known at least as much for his prodigious appetite as for helping the Cavs make the playoffs in his rookie season after the team began the campaign with a 2-19 mark.
Hoawrd the Cab Driver, side kick to WPLJ’s Jim Kerr, passed away this week
Longtime Yankees PA announcer Bob Sheppard has died at 99.
American Splendor creator Harvey Pekar found dead at 70
I’m not near my list right now, but didn’t I finally have a death this year? I could have sworn that I had Eunice Kennedy Shriver…
If you did, you are a year late.
Wow, did anyone have him?
Milt Morin, who starred for the University of Massachusetts football team before a ten-year NFL career with the Cleveland Browns, has died at the age of 67. Morin, who caught 271 passes with the Browns and made two Pro Bowl squads, is scheduled to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame this coming weekend.
Nope.
