The Celebrity Death Pool 2010

A unique pick for Cunctator.

Albertina Walker passed last week.

I am subscribed to this thread.

Every time it has unread posts, I think to myself, “Who died?” Every single time.

Do I detect a “Hey Meeko, Shut Up!” in here?

Trust me, this game is nothing. There was a game of Haggle* on here that lasted about 2 weeks, IIRC. Someone complained that I was posting way too much.

After the game was over, I did the math. **Roughly 15% of my SDMB total post count [at that time] came from the game. **

  • Despite April Foolishness game going south on me, Dragon’s Hoard Haggle has taught me that monopolizing post space in Haggle is advantageous.

We do need another Haggle game some time.

Not at all! I didn’t even notice you!

I want to play! Um - what is it?

I popular Ferengi party game, I believe.

I’d be interested to see how they adapted it to the board.

Rebo: Chicago Sportswriter Reid Hanley Died at age 64

Soul singer, General Norman Johnson dead at 67.

Actor Simon MacCorkindale dead from cancer at age 58. Husband to actress Susan George.

Here is the game thread for it. I believe Meeko broke some sort of record for posting rate in this thread.

I think I came in…third?

April Foolishness Haggle(2009)

So Manimal’s final change is from man to dust?

Oh, that’s something we all get to look forward to someday, so that would be
hard to claim to be his alone.

Still, I had forgotten this guy was alive until I heard he was dead.

42 points for seven people.

 ME TOO!!!

Yesssssssssss!!!

Larry Siegfried, who helped the Ohio State Buckeyes win the 1960 NCAA basketball title, has died at the age of 71. After his college days, he played with the Cleveland Pipers of the old American Basketball Association before rejoining former Ohio State teammate John Havlicek with the Boston Celtics. He subsequently contributed to five of the Celts’ NBA crowns before finishing his pro career with San Diego, Houston, and Atlanta.

Benoit Mandelbrot, mathematician.

Obviously, I would have referenced Dragon’s Hoard.

But yeah, the April Fool’s themed game was … Well IIRC, someone dropped out, and his elements went to auction. That partnered with the Pound monetary note, and the game was a run away.
I gave a thought to a Halloween themed game. I decided against it, because I won’t have the time to give it, if I were to Mod it.

Wow.

For whatever reason, I thought he was already dead. … Not in the traditional use of the word.

Just, I knew of his work, and I thought he had come and gone.

And now, in honor to Mandelbrot, a self-repeating post.
