“Hey hey, goodbye” to musician and songwriter Paul Leka, dead at the age of 68. Originally written as a throwaway song, and deemed so “embarrassing” by Leka that it was released by “Steam” rather than under the performers’ names, Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye went to No. 1 in 1969 before becoming immortalized as a sports taunt standard in arenas and stadia around the world.
