Violet Beauregard’s father in Willy Wonky has died.
I am pretty sure no one had Leonard Stone. He was one day shy of his 88th birthday.
Matty Alou, of the baseball Alou family, dead at 72.
At one time in the 60’s, the San Francisco Giants outfield consisted of Matty Alou, his brother Felipe, and his other brother Jesus.
He was also the last living of the five adults who accompanied the children in that movie.
Sid Melton, who played Alf Monroe on the sitcom Green Acres, has died at the age of 94. Melton’s other roles included Uncle Charley Halper, the owner of the club where Danny Thomas’s character performed in the series Make Room for Daddy, The Danny Thomas Hour, and Make Room for Granddaddy.
Bob Forsch, former St. Louis Cardinals pitcher who threw two no-hitters, died of an aneurysm at age 60. Last week he threw out the first pitch in Game 7 of the World Series.
In fact, Forsch was 61.
And the world has lost another terrorist. Alfonso Cano, head of FARC, has reportedly been killed by the Columbian army. Cano was 63.
I fell I’ve lost out – never having had the chance to be terrorized by him.
Andy Rooney dead at 92
