Here are the threads for 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009. I somehow missed the 2005 thread in my bookmarks. The start of the 2003 thread indicates it is as least the second such game, but I did not join in until then, so I do not know about prior to that.

It’s interesting looking at some of those old threads. Back then, people picked celebrities that were, you know… celebrities.
In 2003 there were only 8 successful unique picks, and I’d heard of six of them and a seventh was clearly a relative (wife) of someone I’ve heard of. In contrast, I’ve only heard of 8 of the 30 deceased unique picks in 2010.
There again, the winning score in 2003 would only have placed 9th in 2010.
