Ah, of curse.
Thanks!
Brian Lenihan, aged 52. And Critical Mass takes the lead.
Begorrah! My wee cherry is busted by a lad from the Auld Sod.
Agh! He was on my short list but things looked too optimistic. Darn those Glass-Half-Full people … where are the realists when you need them? Hmmph.
Congratulations Critical Mass!
José Pagán, whose play at shortstop helped the San Francisco Giants win the National League pennant in 1962, has died at the age of 76. Pagán also had a key hit to help the Pittsburgh Pirates take the decisive seventh game of the 1971 World Series.
E street band saxophonist Clarence Clemons is reported “seriously ill” after a stroke.
Alan Rubin Blues Brother trumpeter, dead at 68.
Mr. Fabulous! Bummer.
I love this quote:
While making the movie [The Blues Brothers] in Los Angeles, Rubin bought a Mercedes-Benz 300SL sports car. As recounted in the 2005 book “Jazz Anecdotes,” he was sharing photographs of it in a recording session when the record producer said, “You own that car? But you’re only a trumpet player!”
The quick-witted Rubin replied: “Yeah, but I play flugelhorn too.”
Why did I decide to drop him from last year’s list? I was all excited until I was able to find my entry!
Harold Camping has a stroke; he may miss the next rapture.
Terry Pratchett has requested the paperwork that would allow him to have an assisted suicide in Switzerland.

I love the comment that’s currently atop the comments section:

Carl Gardner lead singer of the Coasters dies at age 83. Yakety Yak… don’t talk back.
This makes me feel sad…and old. He was a member of the '68 World Series Champion Detroit Tigers, and was still playing with them the day I saw my first “live” game at Tiger Stadium in April, 1972.
Rest in peace, Mr. Northrup, and thanks for being a piece of my childhood.
Football(?) legend Rex Mossop dies. Not sure what kind of football, American Football, Int’l football, or Aussie Rules football. Age 83.
That’s about as legendary as it gets.
