Whoaa, I didn’t go back far enough through the snark exchange to check. My bad.
All good smithsb! You provided a link, which I didn’t.
I just heard a report on Norwegian TV that Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, is dead. I’ve no cites yet.
NBC just did confirm it, Astronaut Neil Armstrong, first man to walk on moon, dies at age 82
Someone at NBC had sloppy fingers, they did indeed report it as:
“Astronaut Neil Young, first man to walk on moon, dies at age 82”, I saved the screenshot tough.
C-SPAN2 also confims it.
Damn.
Now that saddens me.
I was going to upload my screen cap of astronaut “Neil Young” dead at NBC.com, but Gawker got the posted mistake up already:
And yes, folk rocker Neil Young is still alive and well.
I like one of the comments:
“It’s one small step for Southern Man. One giant leap for Southern Mankind.”
“Crosby, Stills, and Nash had no comment.”
Oh damn, this is one death that depresses me. I remember being so keyed up, and watching the first moon landing, when I was fourteen.
I don’t need him around anyhow.
BornTek and Lsura get points for Neil Armstrong.
I was thirteen.
I sent a get well card to NASA.
Their acknowledgement letter gave me his address:
Dr. Neil A. Armstrong
PO Box 436
Lebanon, OH 45036
I’ll send a card to his Wife.
I was weeks away from turning eleven. Now I really feel old.
At least two of us are more elderly than you.
In the words of FairyChatMom, cowboy up!
Heck, I was 6 when the moon landing happened. I remember it vaguely.
Get off my lunar surface, punk!
