The Celebrity Death Pool 2012

And Dick Van Dyke has married a woman 46 years younger than him.

I fully expect him to shag himself to death before the end of the year.

His work was also responsible for Americans to realize that other countries
also made comic books. I liked the Airtight Garage the best.

Ian Turpie, aged 68.

Don Mincher, the only man to play with both the Washington Senators baseball franchise that moved to Minnesota and the expansion Senators who became the Texas Rangers, has died at the age of 73. Mincher also helped the Oakland A’s win the 1972 World Series.

Harry Wendelstedt, who served as a Major League Baseball umpire from 1966 to '98 and founded a school that trained new generations of umps, passed away at 73. Wendelstedt helped keep Dodger pitcher Don Drysdale’s scoreless-inning streak alive in 1968 by ruling that Giants catcher Dick Dietz, who had been hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, had made no attempt to get out of the way of the ball and thus was not entitled to take first base.

We are almost halfway through March and no celebrity deaths from poster choices.

Well, it was a fast start, I guess the powers that be were toying with us.

Capt**ain Klutz **had Ian Turpie.

Whoops! Since I hadn’t heard any gloating I hadn’t checked. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks to Ian Turpie, Captain Klutz has 102 points, and is in second place behind zoog, who has 129.

This should be a lesson to all posters/participants. You should care for your list as you would a [del]sick relative[/del] [del]favorite potted plant[/del] password.

Prayers, curses, coin wishes, chanting, voodoo doll piercing, etc… are not enough. Stick with it people. Remember the prime directive; “We’re not actually killing them!”

No. No, we’re not.

And nobody can prove otherwise.

Until we get that rule changed.

We’re not even violating one of the SDMB’s Prime Directives – don’t wish death on someone. We are not really wishing for their deaths. We are merely profiting from their deaths. Which I think we can all agree is at least one step up the morality ladder from the “wishing” step.

Our post-death giggling and chortling is really just another form of grief.

It’s Kubler-Ross’s little known sixth step of grief.

Denial, Chortling, Anger…

Apparently this may be his third heart attack.

Hope he’ll be OK…
…because he sounds like a good candidate for next year’s list.

Margaret Whitlam, aged 92.

Damn. I had Gough on my list.

John Demjanjuk is toast.
