Thank you for posting. I did not know about this barbaric outrage. I wonder if the US government was at all involved in trying to persuade the Saudis to not carry out this sentence, perhaps behind the scenes, or if this situation was ignored.

Our Esteemed, Intelligent, Benevolent and Beloved of G-d Death Mistress, Baker, has a “Lose…”, er, “Late Comers Corner” just to keep track, not for points, so that we may point and say, “Thou are a lose…Late Comer!” I am a mere worm crawling in camel dung, and have no idea of her continuing plans for this class of lose…late comers.
I love the way carnivorousplant is such a suckup! And yes, I have two players in the LateComers corner, with the game still ending 12/31 however. If Sario wants to play against those two folks, they sure can!

I have told Sario I’m keeping a list of latecomers to play against each other. So far there are three. They won’t be official winners but I don’t mind keeping track of them. And it will keep them coming back to the thread and will help remind them when it’s time to play next year.
As this is my first death pool, I do have one question- Whats up with the 27 club thing?
Wikipedia entry on the 27 club. Basically, there were a few prominent musicians who all died at the age 27, and when someone noticed this, the idea took off and became a thing.
If anyone is interested, Baker generously shared with me the spreadsheet listing the 2013 entries, and I have created a Excel-based “scorekeeper” that automatically updates the rankings when you enter a celebrity death.
