Princess Lilian of Sweden has died. I’d never heard of this woman, but it sounds like a romantic, if bittersweet story.

Nobody had her, but it’s given me an idea for next year, that of elderly royals.

Well, Queen Victoria isn’t going to cut it.

Well, a number of people do have Vicky’s great-great-granddaughter!

We are not amused.

Peter Banks.

No

Yes!

Nobody had him.:frowning:

Nm

Wait what?

That’s terrible. :frowning:

I had Pope Benedict on my list and, because he is no longer Pope Benedict I should get the points.

I’m not dead yet!

From my personal “well that really sucks” file:

Former Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr, age 56.

Edit – nope, no one had him. A few Clive James, but no Clive Burr.

Ed Asner is in the hospital.

Grand Ole Opry Star Jack Greene Dead at 83

None of the Death Pool Buzzards are circling for Lil Wayne? ? ?

When I first heard, my immediate thought that he was on The Apprentice-All Stars.

And then I thought, What if he gets fired this week by The Donald?

What sucks more, to get fired or to die?

And then I realized it was Lil Jon on the Apprentice and not Lil Wayne.

Malachi Throne has died at 84. Played Robert Wagner’s boss Noah Bain on It Takes a Thief.

Yeah I saw that on Jim Beaver’s Facebook page. I remember him more from Star Trek.

Trivia note: Ed Asner, Anne Frank, Martin Luther King Jr, and Yasser Arafat were all born in 1929 - which is moderately strange because they feel like the belong in different eras.

Fred Phelps was also born in 1929.

George H.W. Bush and Anne Frank were both born on June 12 (Bush in 1924, Frank in 1929). I always remember this because when I first read about it (in a “who was born on this day” trivia note), Bush was running for president, and I thought about what a privileged life he was leading while she was going through tragedy. Then I realized that during WWII, Bush was serving a distinguished career in the Navy, doing his part to stop the atrocities and save people like Anne Frank. It didn’t make me vote for him, but it did give me a better perspective on him that I have always retained.

Yes, I didn’t agree with a lot of Bush, Sr. politics, but I respected him as I did not respect his son.
