The Celebrity Death Pool 2013

At 91, rounding out the Deanna Durbin / Esther Williams trio.

Ahhh, the Nine-Point Club.

As eclectic as it is exclusive.

Poor Slim. He almost made it.

One year I had eighteen points, for two picks who were both ninety-one when they died. They were Adm. James Stockdale and voice actor Thurl Ravenscroft. If you have heard Tony the Tiger, or the song “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch”, you have heard Ravenscroft.

…officers responded to calls of a shooting at the Maplewood Apartments at 1901 South Jones Street at approximately 4:07 a.m. Thursday morning. On arrival, they found Lil Snupe (born Addarren Ross) had been mortally wounded with two shots to the torso area…

82 points - man, I’ve got to have a hip hop/rap themed list next year. These folks are sitting ducks.

My 5 year old has refreshed my memory of “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” and I was probably able to identify Tony the Tiger (“They’re Grrrrreat!”) when I was 5, which was one hell of a long time ago.

And “Thurl Ravenscroft” has to be one of the coolest names ever.

Indeed.

Sounds like a character from the Harry Potter books.

naw, didn’t you read the rules? SEVENTEEN is too young…

(and feel free to join me in this handbasket headed for that really warm place…)

I’ve had Suge Knight on my list for a few years now. Seems like about once a year or so I read a story about gun play in his vicinity. I figure at some point he’s gonna catch one and pay off. I have a hard time envisioning him dying of old age…

Or if you’ve watched Dumbo. He’s one of the guys who sang “Pink Elephants on Parade”.

Just coming from the Le Mans car race:

And he’s the bass singer for “Grim Grinning Ghosts” in the Haunted Mansion ride. He’s done a lot of work for Disney.

Sounds like Nelson Mandela’s health is deteriorating, his condition is listed as critical.

Blues singer Bobby Bland, dead at 83.

Very sad to learn that Professor Mick Aston has passed away at 66:

Richard Matheson has died, the author of I Am Legend, and many other works, including Twilight Zone stuff.

Just heard about this. Very sad. :frowning: Also a shame that he quit Time Team in disgust, and then that Time Team was cancelled.

Sam Farber, creator of OXO and nephew of the guy who started Farberware, dead at 88.

Gary David Goldberg, who produced the TV series Family Ties and Spin City, has died at the age of 68. Besides those Michael J. Fox vehicles, Goldberg’s contributions include the underappreciated Brooklyn Bridge, which lasted only two seasons.
