The Celebrity Death Pool 2013

I’ve already decided that all I’m going to do is re-submit this year’s list of immortals for next year’s CDP. Somebody’s gotta drop dead sooner or later, right?

Shouldn’t that have been 58 hours and 12 minutes?

we go by Chicago time

I’ve been saying that about Ariel Sharon for seven years. Man’s immortal I tells ya.

AKA Baker’s Baker’s Dozen! (OK, it’s not, but it should be, dammit!)

Yes, but we like you that way.
ETA: Yeah, I’m gonna have to jump in and do a list this year, no matter how crappy it might be. Watching from the sidelines has gotten me hooked, and I want some skin in the game in 2014.

I recommend politicians or elected officials from countries with a lot of conflict. One year, on a whim, I put Benazir Bhutto’s name on my list, and by golly she came through for me on December 27th, getting my first and only points that year, and the Final Hours award.

Check out Siam Sam’s “There’s Rioting in Our Streets” thread, for starters.

ETA: 32 hours and 50 minutes!

That’s good advice - I can think of a few obvious candidates off the top of my head. But I’m sure there’s more good prospects that haven’t occurred to me, so I’ll check out the thread. But I think I’ll trust in SpazCat’s ability to keep Ariel Sharon alive.

But I also think I need a couple of young celebs with dissolute lifestyles, just to have a chance of nabbing the next Amy Winehouse. Gotta have a couple of longshots with the chance of scoring big. So that if one of them scores for me, I’ll be thinking, “this is easy!” and be repeatedly disappointed when I fail to replicate my initial success for several years.

Also known as the “Lindsey Lohan Effect.”

Just for the hell of it, I Googled “Celebrities most likely to die in 2014.” This thread was the third link in the list.

This means we have work to do people! We should be number one!

16 hours and eight minutes!

I have a secret strategy for 2014. <mwa-ha-ha>

we’re all so bust counting down til the new thread, we missed the passing of Trixie Norton

Let me guess. It involves picking celebrities who are sick and have cancer.

I didn’t know Conrad Bain and “Dear Abby” Pauline Phillips had died this year!

I’m basically reusing my list from this year, minus the 3 who have died already (so far). I have some extras to swap in just in case anyone from my main list kick the bucket before the end of the year.

Is that not redundant, or is it explainative?
Is explainative a word?

Actor Paul Walker reportedly died in a car explosion according to Twitter reports. Age 40.

The car must have been too Fast and Furious.

I’m not seeing legit news site reporting on Walker’s death. Mostly it’s gossip sites following TMZ’s lead. Anyone have more legit sources?

I have been reading Twitter and I have determined that Paul Walker is Schrodinger’s Cat. He is either alive, or he isn’t.
