My son expresses his dismay that English-language television viewers don’t know the beauty that is Mike, Chez Rona. He feels bad for you all.

Now, that’s a good commercial. Clever, too, putting “Mike, Chez Rona” to the tune of “My Sharona.”
All we get from Rona in English are kids playing hockey in the house, breaking through drywall, busting the washing machine, painting the basement floor, and otherwise making a mess, all set to Nazareth’s “Love Hurts.” That’s another that’s played so often that I automatically mute it.
I’ll take “Mike, Chez Rona” any day.

He’s a minor celebrity at this point. There’s a Habs/McDonald’s/Rona crossover commercial about poutine, there’s one with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, the guy is often at Habs games (in character), Rona advertised Mike costumes for Halloween.

Not surprised if there are a lot of Riders fans in Winnipeg tonight. As I recall, it’s only about a six-hour drive from Regina to Winnipeg. It’s a lot more difficult than that to get to Winnipeg from Montreal.
