The Colbert Report 2/12/09

What a fantastic show. One of Colbert’s best ever. The guest, Adam Gopnik (plugging his new book) was a bit weak, but the exchange between Stephen, his brother, and the art curator over Obama’s image was pure genius. Stephen was completely on his game for this one.

Memorable quotes (not verbatim):

Stephen (to his brother): First, Col-bear or Col-bert? Which is it?
Ed Colbert: Col-bert.
Stephen: See you in hell.

Stephen (to his brother): Wait a second, you were just arguing for the artist, and now you’re arguing for the Associated Press?
Ed Colbert: Yes.
Stephen: Well, who’s side are you really on?
Ed: Whoever’s paying me.

I really like his brother. Hope they bring him back.

Ed didn’t do too badly either at the end.

Stephen: “Who do you think is right?”
Ed: “Who’s paying me?”

Edit: Curse you edit!

Ah, I knew I misquoted that a little. Oh, well… was still hilarious.

Oh, and to add:

Stephen: How can you agree with all three at once?
Ed: I’m a lawyer.
