The coolest music experiment of the year is already out - Pat Metheny's "Orchestrion"

Has anyone head about this? Guitarist Pat Metheny decided to make a 21st century version of the orchestrion, the one man bands of 100 years ago.

He wanted all-acoustic music, so he commissioned dozens of robot-played instruments that he can control with pedals and his guitar, all at once.

The results sound surprisingly human. And good!

Shame it’s jazz muzak. I hate jazz.

But I like how it’s about a mechanical approach to playing instruments, rather than some esoteric hippy nonsense about the art in music.
