As I have perused some of the threads, I’ve been staggered by some of the mundane threads posted, and more importantly, the fact that there are so MANY people out there with nothing better to do with their time than to live vicariously through the Internet.
This is not to say there are no good and worthy causes for forums, nor is it my place to determine what those may be. I just wonder if any of the members here question the amount of time they dedicate to their online activities, versus investing in interpersonal skills.
When I joined, I came forward with a matter of GRAVE concern, asking for help and I honestly believed I’d receive at least one response! Nothing. Tonight I returned and began to read about paper towel tubes! REALLY PEOPLE??? Are you that self-absorbed?
We’ve all heard the expression “Pay it Forward.” That’s just another term for serving others. When you quit focusing upon yourself and put energy into helping others, you’d be surprised at the good things that will be returned to you. Some of you might call it “Good Karma.”
Well, you’re still on line here. Loach, who is a law enforcement professional gave you a factual answer. For New Jersey - no. Otherwise, depends on your jurisdiction.
The General Questions forum is for questions with factual answers. I don’t even see a question here, let alone a factual question.
You’ve only made one other post here, and that was answered in a little over an hour by a professional law enforcement officer. It is very likely that you didn’t receive any further answers simply because no one had any better answers to give you. Maybe you should have added a post after that to at least say what jurisdiction you are in.
If you want to complain about people here, the only forum where we allow that is the BBQ Pit. Be forewarned, it’s not exactly our friendliest forum, and don’t expect too much sympathy there. We also have the About This Message Board forum, where you can POLITELY discuss issues related to this message board, but ATMB is not a forum to simply bitch about the way you were treated here.
