I read somewhere that 70% of Dems and 40% of Reps are planning to get vaccinated. At that rate, herd immunity will be a long time coming. A good friend of mine who is 84 will not get vaccinated. He never gets the flu vaccine either. He says he gets the flu about every ten years and it is not that bad. He is concerned at the long-term effects. 84 year-olds don’t have much of a long-term prospect. I will be 84 next month.
Altho his three predecessors all are willing to be vaccinated on camera, I doubt Trump has the cajones for that, even if he had not already contracted the disease.
I agree that Trump not having to get a shot is going to be good for his prospects of stirring up sh!t next year with the Biden Presidency. He knows there is a deep schism amongst Americans on vaccinations that he can exploit, and an army of loyalists ready to do (or not do) whatever he commands. Why do the right thing now and encourage his followers to trust in the process and get vaccinated - why play those cards now?
