Only thing I remember about Dr. Frist is that he gave qualified support to stem cell research despite his anti-abortion stance. Whether that mitigates this whole mess is a matter of debate, I suppose.

Spector is pro-choice. The GOP would shoot him in the head before they’d let him lead the senate.
Frist is a lead pipe cinch, barring photographic evidence of him in bed with a dead woman or a live boy.

The science on the vaccine additive is inconclusive. I’ve got no conclusion as to the results of any trial. But thats not the point.
Somebody snuck in a Get Out Of Court Free card for El Lilly into a bill that they knew, knew was bound to pass. Whether the case is good or bad doesn’t matter. It still stinks, and it stinks to high heaven. It would be bad enough if somebody had the sheer gall to do it in broad daylight, but to sneak it in under cover of darkness, at the last minute, anonymously…just plain rotten.
Democrat, Republican, I don’t care. I want to know who he is, I want the people who elected him to know who he is. So far, I kind of like this Frist guy, seems a decent enough sort even if his politics are out of whack. Doing pro bono medicine counts a lot in my book, so the benefit of the doubt is extended. But if it turns out that this leads back to him, fuck him. Fuck him and the horse upon which in he rode.
