The Curaflo pipe lining system

I have really horrid old galvanized pipes in my apartment, and horrid nasty water with poor flow. The landlord won’t pay to replace the pipes (and I’m unwilling, for reasons of my own, to raise a stink about it), but there’s a process by which the pipes can be blasted clean, and the inevitable leaks sealed with an epoxy lining.

Here’s a description of the CuraFlo process. As you can see, they’re cagey about the cost.

Does anyone know how much this process costs? Does anyone know whether it works as advertised?

I’m sure it works well, but it’s expensive. This page pegs a typical job at almost $7,000 - about $6,999 more than I’d pay to fix someone else’s plumbing.

Interestingly, re-plumbing with PEX tubing might be cheaper than the epoxy treatment, mainly because it’s simple stuff to install - unlike rigid pipe, it can be pulled like electrical cable… Unfortunately, PEX is still not permitted by the California Plumbing Code.

Thanks. I wasn’t proposing to pay it myself; I was hoping that it was a less costly alternative to copper (ha!) so that the landlord would be willing to pay for it.
