Sigh. I suspected as much. Any specific details you want to share?
Is it noticeably different? I don’t remember there being that much to tell between the games except for dual wielding (which was admittedly cool in a Chow Yun Fat sort of way, but not exactly a gamebreaker) and the new races and character classes…
Well, that and the BG2 world being much bigger.
It’s less grainy for one. If I recall correctly, Baldur’s Gate defaulted to 640x480, whereas BG II defaults to 800x600. But it doesn’t bring in some of the other innovations, like the ability to stack missile weapons up to 40. It also doesn’t include the late Infinity Engine features from Icewind Dale II, like gem bags. That would have been really handy at Durlag’s Tower.
Although as of now Neverwinter Nights 2’s interface plays a lot more like Baldur’s Gate than NWN1 did, which has been a great relief to me, I still find the Infinity Engine games a lot more fun in terms of setting up combats and co-ordinating allies.
More spells, better AI (?), faster walk speed, more classes and you can now use the fan-made expanded NPC banter pack, which sounded like a fanfic horrorshow waiting to happen, but I actually found to really very well done. I have very high authenticity standards for modding, by the way.
Actually, maybe they have it for non-tutu, not sure. Ignore me.
