The current Threadspotting link leads to http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=747383 , which gives an “invalid thread specified”. Now, usually, that error message means that a mod wished the thread into the cornfield. Which either means that there was a disagreement between the mods about just how funny the thread was (in which case it should probably be replaced by some other thread), or (more likely) TubaDiva had a couple of windows open while going about her mod business and accidentally C&Ped the wrong link.
To be precise, when a thread is wished into the cornfield, it gives the message “[Username], you do not have permission to access this page.” The *invalid thread *error comes when specifying a thread that does not exist at all.
Why this should happen, when threads are numbered sequentially, and we’ve gone past the assigned number is a mystery. I suspect a database glitch.
Yet God has revealed that there is no differentiation between men and women in terms of piety and that men and women have equal responsibilities when it comes to doing good works.
