The Daily Feud: Incumbents of the World [Game Over]

Arthur isn’t “not real” so much as “possibly not real”. There was either a historical Arthur (obviously without the knights and dragons and maidens fair and Camelot and whatnot) or a fairly pervasive legend.

#9 is supposed to be ambigous and I’m glad it worked out that way

Queen Tonya is #44.

Actually, you don’t get to play. It’s not fair to the other players who are really trying to win.

Since one post was rejected, Queen Tonya is #43.

It’d be nice if you include a disclaimer for future players that you reserve the right to throw out answers, so they know in advance.

The rules would get too long if she had to put *everything *in there. Your entry appeared to break the rule that says you should try to match other the players’ answers. In addition to throwing out entries that don’t look like they’re actually playing to win, she also decides which answers are alike or not. We can plead our case; I’d wager we could bribe her, but she retains the only vote on whether Harald does or does not equate to Harold. And so on. The feud games are a mostly-benevolent, but ultimately ruthlessly authoritarian regime. I’m sure you’re welcome to try a serious answer. Plus, sometimes other people run feuds with other rules; you can play those and/or run one of your own.

You’re right. I have added it to the “boilerplate” rules.

ETA: Which are getting rather long, 3acres!

I’m curious, though. Does posting joke answers actually affect the relative rankings of the participants? Joke answers will almost never match any of the serious ones, so everyone will score fewer points, but it should be an equal effect, no? It’d be as if the joke poster didn’t actually exist, and the game had 49 participants instead of 50.

Although I guess it does take up a spot of person #51, who does want to play to win.
