I want a French bulldog 'cause it’s the cutest dog evah. But I think my big kitty would murder me in my sleep if I got a dog…
I want a German Shepard…smart, loyal, beautiful dogs.
I have a house and could get one.
-
We have stairs in the house and one problem with German Shepards is their hips get bad and they can’t do stairs as they get older.
-
Having lived in a house with a German Shepard, I know they need lots of walking and attention. I would feel guilty if I ever got home too late, and weekend/week long trips would be difficult.
-
I have friends at work who have told me about the price of visits to the vet. And again, knowing what happens, I am afraid a German Shepard will be a pricey pet to keep.
So yes, count me as someone who would love to have a dog, but considering all of the above, and having lived through the death of a pet when I was younger, I think I will have to pass for now…(just don’t put a pup in my arms though…all rational thougt waves will disappear upon contact and I will be buying a 50 pound bag of Kibble 'n Bits on the way home.)
[Eve puts on her Ziegfeld Girl outfit, climbs onto the red velvet swing and sings]
"I’ll be so glad when I get old
To do just as I ‘likes’
I’ll keep a parrot and at least
A half a dozen tykes
And when I’ve got a tiny pet
I’ll kiss the little thing
Then put it in its little cot
And then to it I’ll sing:
Daddy wouldn’t buy me a bow-wow! (bow wow!)
Daddy wouldn’t buy me a bow-wow! (bow wow!)
I’ve got a little cat
And I’m very fond of that
But I’d rather have a bow-wow wow!"
You don’t have to wait that long.
Those of us who do have pets usually handle that situation by having a friend or neighbor come in and look after the pets while we’re gone. If they also have pets, you might reciprocate by pet-sitting for them when they travel.
If you don’t have any friends or neighbors who are willing to do it, there are lots of pet sitters who will do it for a fee. There are also kennels and (some) vet’s offices where you can board your pet while you are traveling.
The Neville kitties don’t particularly like being boarded, because it is at the V-E-T’s (we haven’t tried the pet-sitter route, but plan to soon). But they seem to be OK when we bring them home, and soon they are back to their normal purry, pesky-people-cat selves.
I want a dog, too. A year ago, I was seriously considering it (my apartment building does allow dogs). But I knew I was going to move again and thought it would be easier to find a place if I didn’t limit myself to those that allowed dogs. In fact, I do have an awesome new apartment, but they don’t allow dogs. Plus, I may not be home often enough for a dog. So I’ll wait.
I have a dog (and two cats) but I want another dog. A Rottweiler.
Sweet little rotties.
Ok. That French Bulldog is so ca-uuuuuuute.
I knows zero about the breed, but …GAH!..those pushed up snoz’s…those ears…
Yes! I used to live in a house with three Rottweilers, and they were the sweetest dogs! They would lean against you when you petted them. One of them, if you stopped petting her before she wanted you to, would put one front paw up on you to tell you she wanted more.
I miss them.
They’re even cuter in person (and little, only 28 pounds). I wasn’t even thinking about a dog until I met a friend’s a couple of weeks ago. Now it’s all I think about. (and they were bred a companion dogs so they’re super friendly and good apartment dogs) But, I’m gone from my apt for 12 hours a day almost every weekday so it’d probably be a bad idea.
Here’s a puppy…
I just got a new cat: Devil
He’s sweet, but still a little freaked about the new place and the scary big new guy that lives there. I think he misses the other cats at the shelter, too.
Oh man, I want a dog soooo bad. I have a cat, and he’s cute and all, but I want a big dog that I can play with. Unfortunately, I’m going to college in september and I won’t able to have one for another couple years.
Same situation as many others here–can’t have cats or dogs where I live. Luckily I got to visit one of my favorite kitties when I went home this past weekend.
