Same boat. In fact, I found the books tedious, aside from Roland. The character’s ascension to becoming a gunslinger is an awesome thing to read. The stuff with Eddie and Detta, meh. I’ll watch the movie if that is erased.
Hard to feel bad for him now, isn’t it?!
Though it’d be scary to see an apocalyptic Punxsutawney.
I’m just dreading Wizard and Glass. I know some people loved it, but I slogged through that one and easily found it to be the worst in the series.
Did anyone read the interquel he wrote? I wonder if they would include the events in the movies.
More like punch through an azbantium wall. Which might be less painful than romancing Andie McDowell.
The Wind Through the Keyhole? Yes, I enjoyed it a lot, it worked on multiple levels for me.
I too didn’t care for Wizard and Glass, except for those portions which included his ka-tet with Eddie and Susannah and Jake. So it was nice to see more of that in the ‘interquel’.
Or save the Enterprise from blowing up by listening to Data instead of Stupid Riker.
I’m afraid you got that backwards.
Look away, I’m hideous. You’re right. I misremembered. Riker is still stupid though.
Movie. Singular. There are no plans for any more movies.
I have to admit my reaction was exactly the same as the OP’s.
Idris Elba is a very fine choice to play Roland, but the movie looks loud and stupid and noisy.
Frankly, it would have done better as a TV series.
I don’t know why this didn’t get the premium cable treatment. Game of Thrones on HBO and Outlander on Starz are based on book series and are doing very well.
So no lobstrosities then? :dubious:
I am disappointed.
Did-a-chick?
Nozz-A-La?
“…musical fruit…”
Popkins.
My daughter had me watch the trailer and my immediate reaction was, “No.” Idtis Elba is a fine actor, but he is not Roland Deschain. I don’t know if I’ll bother watching.
BUT. I don’t believe it will be properly wrapped in this movie either. There will be more depending on how this one does.
I thought the trailer looks amazing myself.
You see, my bumbler don’t like people laughing. He gets the crazy idea you’re laughin’ at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you’re going to, I might convince him that you really didn’t mean it.
