Thank God for the conservative press or I would have thought the movie was a documentary. Did they “expose” Jurassic Park when it came out?
Ah. And here I thought it was a morality piece designed to make the thinking public step back and take a more enlightened look at how their actions affect the world around them.
Like, say, Starship Troopers.
The movie, not the book! Ow! Quit it!
Well I’ll be going to a screening in 5 hours, so I’ll let you know if I’m brainwashed.
Ah these liberals. Always making crazy doomsday movies.
Here’s a cool quote from one of the links in that link:
yep. pretty obvious.
Having gone to a screening last night, I can safely say that the article is a bunch of BS. The movie’s focus is not on science; I think it uses science simply to try to let the audience in on WTF is going on. And that lasts all of about 10 minutes.
Most (if not all) of the people there were just there to see LA and NYC get trashed. Oh, and Jake G.
Personally, I loved it.
Does Chicago get destroyed, too?
I don’t think so. And having not seen the movie, my prediction is that it ends with the Cubs losing to the Kansas City Royals in the World Series, since all the west and east coast teams have been drowned.
Yes.
Wait a minute … are they saying there are things in movies that aren’t true?
Oddly enough, environmentalist Al Gore is promoting the film and hoping it raises awareness of global warming.
Is this the film Art Bell has a piece of?
Yes, everyone knows that Fox is a bastillion of liberal agiprop!
Geez, guys, it’s from the same twinks who gave us Independence Day. That alone is enough to tell you it’s cotton-candy fluff…
Don’t forget about fellow odd-ball Whitley Striber!
Well, some movies are factually accurate to a very high degree. “Masters of the Universe” for example…
Exactly. If Al and others weren’t running around saying (to anyone who still pays attention to him): “Let This Be a Lesson To Us All! We have Meddled in God’s Domain and We Must Suffer the Consequences!”, the conservative press would have ignored it.
That movie sucked. I hate documentaries.
I doubt they were concerned about liberals imposing a political agenda with respect to dinosaurs. This isn’t even a Cafe Society thread; it’s a Pit rant.
Well they should have been! Jurassic Park supported that evil humanist notion that the Earth is more that 6000 years old., and dinosaur fossils aren’t just a test God planted in the ground to test us.
If this movie had not come out in an election year, this wouldn’t have been an issue.
