The Democratic Front Runner for 2020 Presidential race is:

How many of those VP’s would be 78 if elected? That would be zero. Not all VP’s are popular either.

His results speak volumes. And no I don’t buy everything he says.

You tell me what the party stands for these days aside from the word NO. They are at their lowest point in years, even you would have to admit that. What motivates Democrats who have historically low turn outs on mid terms, again, you tell me! I would say maybe rock stars or Hollywood’s types telling the less informed how to vote helped motivate some, but this me too business and more visible scandals put a damper on this.

You don’t have to. The majority of Americans are not comfortable with a 78 year old ready to be sworn in. Like I said your best shot is for someone famous, popular with little record to examine.

I did vote for Bill Clinton over a very weak Bob Dole, but had I know the scum stuff on Clinton with an internet to give me news beyond CBS CNN, and NBC, I might have picked Dole. I was young back then…

Let’s remember that both Bill Clinton and Barack Obama were relative unknowns at this time in their respective victorious. Oh sure, they have both given big speeches at the previous conventions but only politics junkies watch those (more’s the pity since had more people watched that dumpster fire that was the 2016 R convention we might not be having this conversation).

My point is that politics, like nature, abhors a vacuum and someone will emerge to take on trump because, face it, somebody has to.

So give us a list. Tell us all Trump’s lies, if you dare.

Fighting bigotry and misogyny; fighting for women’s rights; fighting for economic fairness; fighting for humane treatment for the poor; fighting on the side of science against climate change; reasonable treatment of our allies and no fawning treatment of dictators (along with giving them what they want while getting nothing in return); sticking to international agreements; and much more.

Says a random guy on the internet who adores Trump and hates Democrats. This isn’t particulalry convincing to those of us who don’t adore Trump or hate Democrats.

And yet you had the internet in 2016 and voted for Trump despite the “scum stuff” – the many credible allegations of sexual assault and harassment, and his own bragging, multiple times, about sexual assault and violating the consent of women and girls. This tells us all we need to know about your true feelings about the mistreatment of women.

With the Bernie fad, I’m surprised about the infatuation of the American electorate with 70+ year old politicians. I’d have thought the trend of the millenium’s turn would be 40+ years old, maybe even 36-39 year old presidential candidates or Mark Zuckerbergs running for prez.

Don’t be surprised – there isn’t any such fad. If Biden is a front runner, it’s both much too early and his support would only qualify for front-runner status on a technicality – I haven’t seen any polls in which Biden has more than 20% or so Democratic support in a hypothetical primary. That’s not anything close to “infatuation”.

If Biden decides to run, he’s certainly a strong contender. But we’re not even past that very significant hurdle yet, of him deciding to run.

A front runner at this point is absolutely useless as we aren’t even through the midterms. I’m sure Biden spent a lot of time discussing 2016 well before the death of his son and decided he didn’t have the support within the party.

People will take a look at what worked and didn’t worked during the midterms and then decide if they’re tossing their hat into the ring. I do expect a large field, and as of today, I don’t think it’ll be Biden, Sanders, or Warren.

Sanders could perhaps beat Trump, but doesn’t have a chance in hell of getting the nomination. And beating Trump is no guarantee - it’s Perhaps with a capital P. Warren does have a chance of getting the nomination but definitely doesn’t have a chance of beating Trump.

Biden is one guy who I can see both getting the nomination and beating Trump.

It really is ridiculously early for these sorts of predictions. We have no reasonable idea who would beat who; this is just guessing at this point.

And it could be some governor or senator who isn’t currently well-known outside of their state.

Well who’s on your short list then, besides Statler and Waldorf?

I don’t have a short list. There’s plenty of time and I have no problem with waiting to see who actually wants to run.

All politicians lie. That’s not what I meant to say but for the purpose of this thread, I don’t always agree with how he says it.

Fighting bigotry and Misogyny? Does casting a blind eye and take money from nations who practice the above count? See Clinton and Iran, why take millions from them, as they stand for the exact opposite? Anthony Weiner or Al Franken. Sure, sure.

Economic fairness? Well, the economy is better now, and many have received raises. Families have more money back to sped thanks to tax cuts. How about real world fairness? Capitalism will always have its winner and losers but its much better than communism. How about fighting for the victims from illegal immigration crime? No, Dem’s don’t talk about that.

True Allies pay their share in treaties and do not charge tariffs.

Climate change? Are you using a fossil fuel car? If yes, you’re not fighting it. Switch to Tesla ASAP! You probably part of the problem.

Where was Trump accused of rape? Sorry that is Bill Clinton and the Hollywood me too types. My guess is they might be held in high esteem in your eyes. Compared to Clinton, Trump was a bit cleaner. Hillary is the queen of scandals and IMO kept a private email server for her own reasons, breaking the law by sending classified emails over a non government secure server in the process, then deleted 33,000 emails, acid washing the server, and smashing it to pieces to cover her tracks.

In other words no one is good enough to stand out besides Bernie and Biden a this point in time. Let’s talk about dates

2013: Trump forms a presidential exploratory committee. A sign he’s serious.

With two years to go before the 2020 election, wouldn’t you say its time for Democrats to at least explore the process. Who has done so far? If you are finding few names I think that is telling.

With respect, you’re just a random guy on the internet, too. Your opinion is of no more value than his is in this situation.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever seen a Presidential election before? It’s way, way, WAY too early to be “finding names.” This isn’t something new this cycle.

Bicycle, public transport. Greener than Kermit.

There is NO “front-runner” because no one is, you know, “running” yet. If Joe Biden was actively campaigning to be the next nominee, one might begin to discuss his existence as a “front-runner”.

Nor is he a “front-runner” in the sense that all the chatter in the Democratic Party is that they want to nominate him. First of all, that totally dismisses the increasingly powerful “progressive” wing of the Party, which is not going to want Joe Biden as the nominee at all. Second of all, the chatter in the Party, and from those who are party advocates, is not even close to what I would cal strong regarding the concept. Biden is old (won’t appeal to the younger progressives), prone to saying stupid things (thus likely to be easily skewered by President Trump’s Twitter machine), and not particularly known for being a strong advocate of any particular Democratic Party principle (as a result, not likely to fire up the base over any particular issue). On top of all these things, he’s just another old white guy, and the Democratic Party is trying hard to make hay about the fact that that’s the demographic for the OTHER party.

As for whether or not there IS a front-runner, I don’t think there is; at this point no one is really stepping up on the Democratic side and taking on the President as if they intend to take him on for real in two years. But if I had to put some money down now, I’d pick a younger, ethnically non-“white” and/or female candidate, who appears to have energy.

At this point, I would say the front-runner is John Delaney.

at the end of this year people will start to go to Iowa and New Hampshire so then you will know who wants to run.

As far as Trump being accused of rape, ask Ivana about that, she accused him . and yes I know she later denied it.
