The dipshit at the end of Rudy's testimony

Actually the planners for Al Quaida had concieved this attack long before September 10th. It’s not like those guys got drunk the night before and dared each other to do it.
Also during the Atlantic Olympic games aircraft traffic was diverted so someone couldnt’ hijack a plane and crash it into the Olympic stadium. The idea that this could happen was out there before September 11th.

This post made me imagine Eve gone feral in the Park, living off water from the lake and squirrels killed with a spear…

…and suddenly I’m seeing Eve as Maureen O’Sullivan in a leopardskin sarong, standing on a tree branch, imperiously surveying her domain…

'Scuse me just a moment.

The pony-tailed protester was Christopher X. Brodeur, and he has been doing his best to nail Giuliani’s ass for many years, so it’s not like this was a random outburst or anything.

The fact of the matter is that placing the Office of Emergency Management 23 stories above ground in a building complex that had already been subject to terrorist attack is a move of monumental stupidity.

It’s also stupid that the first thing the NYPD and FDNY have to do during an ‘incident’ of any kind is play rock-paper-scissors to decide which group is in charge. It’s a fucking disgrace that an NYPD warning that the buildings collapse was never relayed to the FDNY, and it’s disgusting that firefighters were never told to evacuate with all possible haste.

We know people did an admirable job in the most stressful situation imaginable, and everyone commends them for that. But this commission should be trying to set up a plan book so we don’t have to rely on flashes of brilliance the next time catastrophe strikes.

What will your apples be going for? (I am lining up sources for provisions)

Unfortunately, that’s been the dynamics between the NYPD and the FDNY since the 19th century, and it’s not about to change anytime soon. There have been fistfights at crime/fire scenes over who’s in charge.

“What am I bid for my apples?
The fruit that made Adam so wise?
When he took a bite on that historic night
They discovered a new paradise . . .”

Are you in NY or Morocco?

I read today that they felt is was safe because the CIA and the secret service were in the same building. It was put in lower Manhattan, because the criteria specified it had to be within walking distance of CIty Hall. They also said it had to be above the 7th floor in case of biological attack.

Don’t kill the messenger here, it’s just what I read in the NY Daily News today.

You know, I am just so saddened by these proceedings. I feel badly for the families who are still so passionate and angry three years after losing their loved one. Were I to die, it is my hope that my husband could let go of the anger and move on because to do otherwise is to sacrifice two lives. I also feel badly for Rudy Giuliani as well as the ex-police and fire chiefs who have come under attack. Do the family members feel better after vilifying other people?

Yes, we need to look at our emergency preparedness, but screaming and pointing fingers isn’t helping.

Hey I got nothing against you. I just think it was a dumbass move, seeing as how the CIA and OEM have very different mandates. And the CIA can always, I dunno, rely on one of their branches in a different state

Didn’t know that. Here’s a question. Does anyone know why they wouldn’t have put it underground? It seems that if it was above the 7th floor in case of biological attacks, you’d have to walk through it anyway to get to city hall.

That’s so unfair. That’s the plan of the workers and citizens in Washington. You guys get your own plan!
