Uh…hello?..is there anyone here?..Hello?
“You can spend all your time makin’ money,
You can spend all your love makin’ time,
If it all falls to pieces tomorrow,
Will you still be mine?”
What else ya’ wanna’ know? Or for that matter, what else does anyone need to know?
…where the beginning of the thread is? Chrome Spot has another thread with absolutely no answers, and this one has you, John and Mr Blue Sky, who apparently also is wondering what the question is… Maybe his system crashed?
Q
Oh well, my Kitty Wells CD just finished anyway. Hank Williams or Bob Wills next?
Yeah, I’m trippin’ waaay back tonight, to Grandpa’s time… Sounds good, too.

Yes, I am the loser of the Cafe Society forum. My system crashed and I went to bed. I didn’t know anything posted until now.
I have heard this song a few times in the last few weeks. The emotional music and fantastic vocal arrangement make me think gospel. The singer is talking about his situation, not quite complaining, and the basic conclusion is that, whatever is wrong with his life, the cure is more of the disease. I guess until I started typing this I saw a lot of selfishness/self-centeredness. Typical 70s/80s theme. I’m also now recognizing that there’s some desperation there too, which has probably always accompanied the selfish component. Any thoughts?
