The Ed Shultz Show - thoughts?

MSNBC is pretty much the liberal answer to FOX news, although much more reliable in there information-giving.

Now they have a new show at 6 - The Ed Shultz show, which seems to me be to be a response to Sean Hannity.

I like the guy, sure he may be a bit of a showman, but its well about time Dems had a few passionate speakers to bash the right, not just Michael Moore (which can be quite clownish at times).

Overall, I like Ed Shultz and his show.

Any opinions?

I like him. He’s funny and he has good guests. He’s not the best interviewer in the world, but hey…he’s an ex-football player and his delivery is less Rachel Maddow and more John Madden.

He’s a keeper.

The only time I’ve caught him was that first night when he was in the Countdown w/KO time slot. He’s loud.

I used to listen to him on a local radio station on my drives home from work.
I liked him.
Will have to catch his new show.

Moving thread from IMHO to Cafe Society.

I normally catch Chris, Keith, and Rachel on the re-runs after 10pm. However, I haven’t seen them re-run Ed’s show yet. Luckily he’s in a slot that’s easier for me to catch realtime, but I hope they re-run him eventually.

He’s the only voice on TV (that I know about) that is aggressively pro-union and pro-working class. The other liberal shows on MSNBC are much more involved in national politics and de-bunking right wing talking points. I don’t think you can call MSNBC a liberal network or the answer to Fox news when they’ve got Morning (I love torture) Joe on for 3 hours every day.

I really like Ed and have listened to him on the radio. I tried to watch his TV show, but the flashing lights behind him give me a head-ache. I wish they’d tone down the set a little bit.

I can stand Joe and Buchanan, although I disagree with most of what they say, I can at least understand where they come from and they are like-able, unlike O’reilly, Hannity, Glenn Beck, etc.

He’s the token right guy.

When they announced this show on Coundown, Keith mentioned that Chris Matthews is the ‘inside baseball’ of politics guy, Rachel Maddow is the affable policy wonk, and that he, Keith Olbermann, was the a-hole. He then asked Ed what his niche was and Ed said he was the pro-working class guy. I have tried to watch him, but I think he’s too loud.

Ed shot his dog! (Seriously, he was hunting pheasants, and managed to kill his dog.)

I was also personally involved in the “Whiskey Bottle Incident” (I did not throw the bottle, or know the person who did), but it gave me a general distaste for Mr. Schultz.

Having seen enough of him growing up in Fargo, ND, I’m glad he can annoy people on a national level now…
