My copy of Skyrim updated to 1.5 yesterday. I’ve opened the game today. No killcams for my bow and arrow. What? I was looking forward to that! It was one of the things I loved about Fallout 3.
Anyone else with Skyrim for PC not seeing the killcam feature?
Well, it still doesn’t happen on every hit. I’ve gotten bow but not spells once, or maybe the other way around.
There’s the Killcam mod on Steamworks which seemed awesome (lots of tweaking though). It has extra animations, killcam on non-last enemy, etc. Last I checked it wasn’t 1.5 compatible but maybe the updated.
Skyrim Electronic Dragon Shout Hoodie. Get them while they last!
One of the gaming sites I visit said that the first DLC will drop this month, no other details, but let the wild speculation begin.
Anybody know of a way to cancel the slow-mo kill animations? It’s kind of cool a few times, but after a while it just disrupts the flow of combat (particularly when the slow-mo kill shot MISSES).
They can miss? Never seen that. Anyway, mod. I think it can also be done through console codes or by editing the .ini, but I can’t find that info right now. If you’re on console, maybe SOL.
You can use console commands to remove the slow motion kill animations, don’t need to screw with a mod. I forget the command but it’s probably at www.uesp.net.
With that said, I think it would be really bad ass if I can replace the player character’s voice clip for the unrelenting force shout and use the mid and high level draugr voice clip instead. The draugr just sound so much cooler when unleashing the shout upon me rather than the other way around.
Ha! Nevermind, there’s already a mod for such a thing.
Plus, if you stab a demon with it, it arrives in Oblivion paralyzed, and all the other daedra have 4 seconds to write “LOSER” on its forehead with a Magic Marker.
For PC users it’ll belate May at the earliest before we get anything, XBox gets it earlier. So meh.
Perfect, I’ll be back from Afghanistan by then. Nothing is worse than trying not to read spoilers while waiting to get back to my games. If I have to wait, everyone has to wait.
I am completely addicted to this game. I actually got it back in December, but I got it along with Dragon Age 2, so I played the hell out of that one first. Then I got FF 13-2. Needless to say, this one is a thousand times more addictive than both of those, to the point that I wonder why I ever loved them so much in the first place. This is a game that ruins me for all other games.
My character is level 26, an uber-archer and thief. I’m working on the Thieves Guild quests right now, along with whatever other random crap I can do. My stealth is in the 70s, archery in the 60s, and smithing and alchemy in the high 40s. I haven’t even been to Falkreath, Dawnstar, or Winterhold yet, and my only visit to Markath was getting out of there after Sam Guevane got me drunk one night. There are whole huge chunks of the map that I have never even come close to seeing. It’s amazing how immersive it is. It’s like playing World of Warcraft without having to deal with all the annoying 13-year-olds.
Well, there ARE annoying 13-year-olds, but in Skyrim, you get to smack them, if you’re willing to accept the bounty.
That’s pretty much the character I’ve played too, though I’ve now had to start using melee weapons in order to keep leveling. I’m around level 62 now. It still feels extremely odd to me to fight with swords or daggers, I’m so conditioned to sneak around with my bow. I’ve been all over the map many times, but there are still places I’m discovering all over using the proximity icons once I’ve fast-traveled somewhere. And like Felicia Day, I still open every urn and mine every chunk of ore. Some developer took the time to wander the map and place them, and by golly, I’m going to interact with them. I don’t think I’ll ever finish, and I’m still cranky as all hell that I can’t acquire all of the achievements this time through thanks to selling off all of my thief armor before I knew that I needed to trade a piece in to the Riften fence.
There’s a mod that lets you flat out kill them, just saying.
Can I kill the guy who preaches loudly and constantly in Whiterun? I already pickpocketed his house key and plan on cleaning him out, but I want him to go away permanently.
But he’s right: the end is nigh.
Maybe you’ve already seen this, one of the earliest popular Skyrim videos?
I settled with wrecking his house during the war.
I got a new companion, took her back to Breezehome, and outfitted her. I gave her some stealth armor and Savior’s Hide to wear. It was a rather skimpy outfit. My in-game wife said something like, “Don’t even think about it!” Hilarious!
I thought I had seen just about everything, done everything. I’m now doing the main quest and am exploring the largest, coolest dungeon yet. I still have not done anything with the Civil War and I got stuck on the Companions quests. This game continues to amaze and surprise.
