the evils of flour weevils

A few months ago I bought some mesa (corn flour) but the only size I could find was about a gallon size or so. I haven’t opened this cabinet since I put it away, sealed up inside a gallon size zip-lock bag.
Recently I noticed some bugs, very small ones, I figured they just want to get out of the rain(not realy). Oh! How cute(not at all! I know an invasion when I see one!)
Last night I searched for the source and found a 1’x2’ cupboard infested with thousands of them, most of them in the corn flour. Digilently I through every dry good I have away, I bagged it up and put it all infront of my evil neighbor(not really, trash day was today).
Now I have refugees. Little ones.
Anyone else have this problem and conquer it pronto? I’m kinda hesitant to use poison in a food storage facility.
So far I’m leaning towards diatomaceous earth and a nice flour bait mix.
Also I’m wondering if they can’t find dry goods might they starve?

I used Raid House and Garden Bug Killer for a similar event. It worked like a charm, but you don’t want food to ever touch the sprayed surfaces afterward.
