The FA Cup Final

How dare you, how very dare you?

Anything is better than being a manure fan, anything

Jackknifed Juggernaut, this may be your first important lesson regarding English football: Arsenal fans are always whining.

Last week they whined because the referee didn’t call a penalty; this week they’re whining because the referee DID call a penalty*. You would think they would be happy that the referee leanred his lesson after the first match and replaced his glass eye, but…no. Still whining.

I would normally agree but for some reason I’ve found myself surrounded by Chelski fans. :stuck_out_tongue:

*We shouldn’t talk about the fact that the missed penalty should have gone against Liverpool and the called penalty was rightly awarded against Arsenal, but we will only because I’m afraid Garius will never talk to me again if we don’t.

If you really wanna talk about whiners then talk about old whisky conk Ferguson.

That moaning old ratbag could moan for England if he wasn’t a Scot in charge of the most…ahem…famous club in the whole of the known universe

I’m going to find it a lot more difficult than usual to get enthusiastic about this year’s cup final. One the one hand I feel I should stick up for a team representing my country but on the other hand they are our local rivals and there is a lot of bad blood between our two teams.

Having said that let’s talk about promotion and relegation issues. Of course I have an ulterior motive in that my team has just gained promotion to the championship today

Swansea City are on their way up, although there is still an outstanding court case concerning Leeds United which might yet have some effect on the league tables.

You sound a little bitter.

Cut me and I bleed Sky Blue :stuck_out_tongue:

Congrats Vetch I just hope Leeds don’t get the 15 points back is all.

Next to manure, Leeds is on my most disliked list

I never had you down for a Coventry Fan

Yeah, I became a Spans precisely to spite my whiny Woolwich Wanderers loving roommate when I did a semester abroad in London.

Missed in the edit because I’m brilliant.

I’m looking forward to this year’s final far more than most others - at last something other than a Big Red Club snooze-fest.

With Chelsea dropping points today it looks more and more likely that Man United will hold onto the Premiership title once again. Obviously it would be foolish to call it while there are still 4 games remaining but still…

And more importantly: Peterborough look even more likely to secure promotion to League One, without resorting to another damn play-off. I don’t care if McDons finish first.

As for the FA Cup final… To be honest, I’m not really looking forward to it at all. It’ll be refreshing to see someone other than the ‘Big Four’ win it, sure, but that doesn’t mean they’ll play exciting football.

Leeds fan here. At least I shared your dislike for the scum. But recently I started getting Fox Soccer Channel which shows the Premiership matches. I am stunned. What has happend to football in the twelve years since I left Blighty? It is so… skillful now. OK, I see the line-ups of the top four and there is nary a British name in sight, so that must be part of it. But it is getting harder and harder to hate the scum (and Arse) when they play such attractive footie.

Just FTR, in the Man United vs Arsenal game there were 6 English players on the United team: Brown, Ferdinand, Carrick, Hargreaves, Scholes and Rooney. Arsenal had 1, and he came on in the 61st minute.

It is amusing to see a Leeds fan call someone else ‘scum’ though  .

Yup. The day we learn to actually put the ball in the back off the fucking net we’ll be lethal!

To my eternal shame my one and only sprog supports Leeds

I brought him up right, took him to Maine Road at an early age, bought him all the kit over the years and the ungrateful little twat tells me on shortly before his 13th birthday that he doesn’t support Manchester City, he is dead keen on Leeds.

Devasted? I was fucking heartbroken. I’m certain he cannot be of my loins, somewhere in Leeds there is a bloke who supports City…the bloody hospital must have got them mixed up.

If his mother was alive I’d kill her :dubious:

Mind you it could have been worse, he could have turned out a manure fan, that would have meant instant infanticide :stuck_out_tongue:

On the subject of football, what about the mighty Rochdale then?

England most unsuccesful team on the brink of the play-offs

No chance of that happening, he was born near Manchester.

Then again, I am waiting for Oldham to regain their former glory :dubious:

I bet Benjani is really kicking himself right now- leaves for a bigger club, supposedly to get the chance at playing for cups and in Europe, and its the club he left that will be doing both of those things. And he’s not scoring either.

The first live match I ever saw was Leeds v Man City, 1969. Mike Summerbee had just been picked for England, inspiring many chants of “Sum, sum, sum, sum, summerbee; who the fucking hell is he”. memorable stuff to a 10-year old.

Leeds won 1-0. Giles.

He was born in Manchester. Withington hospital to be precise…a stones throw from Maine Road.

Ah the “Latics”…they had a player there who is married to a page 3 chick with ginormous boobs…the lovely Michelle Marsh, I forget his name the jammy bastard
