The Face of crime. Caught in the act.

A lot of criminals are just opportunistic. They don’t start out in the morning with a plan to commit a crime. They may not even commit a crime during the course of a day. But if they happen across a situation where they can steal something with what they perceive as minimal risk, they go ahead and take it.

“It looks like you’ll grab anything that isn’t nailed down.”

This reminds me of a similar news story a couple months ago. I think it was in Stillwater?
At some guy’s business he liked to put potted plants and flowers on the front steps of his shop. When they started disappearing on a regular basis he set up a hidden camera. They were surprised to find it was a 60-something white lady who would pull her car right up, pop the trunk, and take them home to decorate her yard.

Thieves ain’t usually that sharp.

If they were (or this one anyway), they’d have told the cops that THEY wanted to press charges against the owners - THEN, maybe let off once the owners gave up…

I saw something similar around Christmas time, but I’m not sure where. Same deal, with the lady at about that age, stealing decorations in the middle of the night. She also got busted by someone’s hidden cam.

Is that the one with the woman taking trees that Boy Scouts were selling and putting them in her Dodge?

Oh, God, that’s horrible. No, the one I remember had to do with her taking them right out of the yard, and in the video I saw, she practically walked directly close to the front door to make sure she hadn’t missed any goodies up there. She was galling.
