The proper name of the ballet is The Nutcracker. The Nutcracker Suite is derived from the ballet, and has at times been more popular than the full-length work from which it was abridged, but is not a ballet in and of itself.
Wow, I didn’t expect last (usually I know when I’m sucking at these). I must be less cultural than everyone else.
If I hadn’t decided to skip this feud, I would have voted Tosca in that category, probably for that exact reason–I just saw Milk last weekend.
FWIW he would have been mine had I gotten in in time. Also, my movie would have been Red Violin.
