  1. As most of my toy playing childhood was in the 70s … why was this so hard? Everything I thought of was actually a 50s or 60s toy or an early 80s toy. Of course I am the youngest in the family, so maybe it was just the hand-me-down effect.

I briefly considered them for #1, but I wondered if that fad wasn’t already played out. Then I remembered being at a party last Christmas where there were about a dozen kids, each playing the whole time with his or her own personal Nintendo DS and barely interacting with one another at all. So I figured, that’s gotta be the most popular toy, right? Right?
