Why!?
At the time, Canada was not only considered a military superpower but were one of the first nations to declare war on Germany in September 1939, long before the US or Russia. The RCAF and Navy were among the best and most sophisticated in the world. Canada served as a training ground for all the Allied countries.
They also played major roles in the battle of the Atlantic, the Battle of Britain, Dieppe, Italy, Normandy, The Netherlands, among others.
It’s sad to see what has become of the Canadian Armed Forces now.
